Transport Group

What we’ve done so far:

• Held stalls and workshops, for example at the Urban Green Fair and Low Carbon Communities Conference
• Created our vision for transport in Brixton (see www.transitiontownbrixton.org)
• Organised a Christmas No Car Boot Sale with local residents
• Outreach to local government, local communities, and other green groups in the Lambeth and South London area

We’re still a relatively new group, and have lots of plans for 2009!...

Our plans for the future:

• A street party for the Spring (the next step following the successful No Car Boot sale)
• Promote our transport vision with other groups in the area, and work with local government, communities and green groups to achieve this
• Work with the Transition Town Brixton Food Group to encourage food growing and alternative land uses in areas set aside for cars
• Encourage and promote carfree and home zones
• Organise an In Town, Without My Car day for Brixton in September
